The Second Summit, Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum press centre is a modern, interactive venue offering a comfortable working environment for the media. It is located in pavilion H of the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Rooms for press events

Briefing hall H1

  • Total area 170 m2
  • Location: press centre (pavilion Н)
  • Capacity: 50 seats, eight-seat panel area
  • Equipment: conference system, wireless microphones, simultaneous interpretation equipment, room for speakers, two plasma screens, two prompter monitors for the panel area, speaker platform, lighting equipment

It is provided free of charge for a slot up to 60 minutes, subject to filling out an application.

Applications to hire rooms for press events will be accepted until 21 July 2023.


Briefing hall H2

  • Total area: 163 m2
  • Location: press centre (pavilion Н)
  • Capacity: 50 seats, eight-seat panel area
  • Equipment: conference system, wireless microphones, simultaneous interpretation equipment, room for speakers, two plasma screens, two prompter monitors for the panel area, speaker platform, lighting equipment

It is provided free of charge for a slot up to 60 minutes, subject to filling out an application.

Applications to hire rooms for press events will be accepted until 21 July 2023.


Signing ceremony point

  • Total area: 24 m2
  • Total area: passage in zone G
  • Capacity: two-seat panel area
  • Equipment: PA system, two wireless microphones, lighting equipment

It is provided free of charge for a slot up to 15 minutes, subject to filling out an application.

Interview lounge

Interview lounge (pavilion H)

  • Total area: 32 m2
  • Location: press centre (pavilion Н)
  • Equipment: sofa, armchair, coffee table, 6 chairs, lighting equipment

It is provided free of charge for a slot up to 45 minutes, subject to filling out an application.

Applications to hire interview lounges will be accepted until 21 July 2023.

Press points

Press points are designed for interaction between Second Summit, Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum official programme participants and the media.

Press points are designed with Second Summit, Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum branding and equipped with a PA system and lighting equipment.

It is provided free of charge for a slot up to 45 minutes, subject to filling out an application.

Applications to hire press points will be accepted until 21 July 2023.

Protocol and organizational support

It will be possible to book the customary protocol and organizational support services for signing ceremonies and press conferences at any venue within the Forum press centre provided by the Second Summit, Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum Organizing Committee for press events (press conferences, briefings, signing ceremonies, interviews, and live media events).

Приветствую Вас по случаю открытия очередной Ассамблеи Африканского союза.

За годы своего существования Афросоюз утвердился в качестве эффективного механизма многостороннего политического, экономического и гуманитарного сотрудничества. Эта авторитетная международная структура играет важную роль в урегулировании локальных конфликтов и кризисов, в упрочении добрососедства, безопасности и стабильности на Африканском континенте.

Для России государства Африки всегда были и остаются важными и надежными партнёрами. Нас объединяет стремление к построению справедливого многополярного миропорядка, основывающегося на подлинном равенстве и верховенстве международного права, свободного от любых форм дискриминации, силового диктата и санкционного давления.

Состоявшийся в 2019 году первый в истории саммит Россия – Африка создал хорошие условия для активизации наших традиционно дружественных связей как на двустороннем уровне, так и на многосторонней основе. Уверен, что вторая встреча на высшем уровне в таком формате, которая пройдёт в июле в Санкт-Петербурге, позволит определить новые задачи по расширению взаимодействия Российской Федерации с африканскими партнёрами на самых различных направлениях, в том числе в решении актуальных вопросов региональной и международной повестки дня.

Буду рад видеть вас в Санкт-Петербурге. Рассчитываю на продолжение конструктивной совместной работы на благо наших стран и народов, в интересах обеспечения мирного и благополучного развития Африканского континента.

Саммит Россия – Африка, который пройдет в Сочи 23–24 октября 2019 года, олицетворяет исторические дружеские связи между Африканским континентом и Российской Федерацией. Данный Саммит имеет большое значение, поскольку он является первым в своем роде в период крупных глобальных и международных преобразований и в ответ на чаяния народов направлен на создание комплексных рамок для продвижения российско-африканских отношений к более широким горизонтам совместного сотрудничества в различных областях.

Африканские страны и Россия исходят из общих позиций в международных действиях, основанных на принципах уважения норм международного права, равенства, невмешательства во внутренние дела государств, мирного разрешения споров и подтверждения приверженности многосторонних действий в соответствии с аналогичным видением двух сторон противостоянию новым международным вызовам. Терроризм и экстремизм во всех его формах, снижение темпов роста и твердое убеждение обеих сторон в важности развития торгового обмена и поддержки взаимных инвестиций таким образом, чтобы обеспечить безопасность, мир и развитие для народов Африканского континента и России.

Африканские страны обладают огромным потенциалом и возможностями, которые позволят им после оптимизации войти в число развивающихся экономических держав. За последние годы страны континента достигли больших успехов по всем политическим, экономическим, социальным и управленческим вопросам. За последнее десятилетие Африка преуспела в темпах роста, достигнув уровня в 3,55% в 2018 году.

В продолжение усилий африканских стран на саммите Африканского союза в Нигере в июле 2019 года было отмечено вступление в силу Африканского континентального соглашения о свободной торговле, включая запуск его инструментов. Данное соглашение является одной из главных целей стратегии развития Африки до 2063 года и призвано способствовать удовлетворению надежд африканского народа на процветание и достойную жизнь.

Эти успехи открывают широкие перспективы сотрудничества между африканскими странами и Российской Федерацией и подтверждают решимость правительств африканских стран и их народов к сотрудничеству с разными партнерами в целях установления взаимовыгодных отношений.

В этом контексте мы рассчитываем на то, что Саммит Россия – Африка будет способствовать установлению конструктивных стратегических отношений, основанных на сотрудничестве между двумя сторонами в различных областях, что поможет в реализации надежд и чаяний африканских народов и дружественного российского народа.

The Russia–Africa Summit, which is taking place in Sochi on 23–24 October 2019, encapsulates the historically friendly relations between the African continent and the Russian Federation. This Summit carries great significance as it is the first of its kind to emerge during a period of major global and international transformations. In response to the aspirations of the people it is representing, the Summit intends to build a comprehensive framework for expanding Russian–African relations into broader horizons of joint cooperation across different fields.

The African nations and Russia share a common understanding of international relations, based on the principles of respect for the rule of international law, equality, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. Both sides affirm their commitment to support multilateral actions to oppose new international threats, be they terrorism and extremism in all their forms, or declining growth rates. The two sides share a firm conviction regarding the importance of developing trade flows and supporting mutual investment in such a way as to ensure security, peace and development for the African and Russian people.

African countries have huge potential and opportunities that will allow them, once efforts to streamline their economies have been achieved, to emerge as real global players. In recent years, the nations of this continent have achieved major successes spanning the political, economic, social and administrative spheres. Africa has flourished in terms of growth over the past decade, reaching a continent-wide growth rate of 3.55% in 2018.

The African Union Summit, which was held in Niger in July 2019, continued the efforts of the African countries and saw the African Continental Free Trade Agreement come into force, along with its operational instruments. The agreement is one of the key objectives of Agenda 2063, an African development strategy that has been created to address the African people’s desire for prosperity and decent living standards.

These successes are opening up wide-ranging prospects for cooperation between African countries and the Russian Federation, and confirm the determination of African governments and their people to cooperate with multiple partners in order to establish mutually beneficial relations.

With this in mind, we express our hopes that the Russia–Africa Summit will help in the establishment of constructive strategic relations, based on partnership between two sides across various fields, and in the service of fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the African people and their friends in Russia.
